These past few weeks we have seen many protests all over the world carrying on the message that all black lives matter. It has been moving and more importantly it has made it clear that many people will not sit in silence. Correcting our loved ones and standing up to them can be hard, but honestly it is a vital step. Ending racism should not be a debate. We cannot deny racism so stop trying to justify, explain or excuse this unacceptable behaviour. We all need to do our parts so that the next time a formidable black female character comes into the mainframe, she is not met with 'amazement, distaste and even belligerence.'
